About Neon Sin
Neon Sin is an independent guide to Las Vegas. It is about the city's look and its story (the signs, the resorts that came and went, downtown and the Strip) and about the practical numbers a visitor needs: how hot it gets, when it gets dark, how far it really is from one resort to the next, and what is worth a day out of town.
The name is a nod to the city's old nickname, Sin City, and to its neon. The site is not affiliated with any casino, resort, venue, tourism authority or the Neon Museum. It carries no advertising and no affiliate links, takes no payment for listings, and gives no gambling advice: casinos appear here as history and architecture.
The data pages rebuild themselves every day from open sources, so today's sunset and this month's history are always current. How every number is made and checked is on the sources and methods page.
Corrections
Las Vegas changes fast: resorts close, shows move, signs go dark. If something here is out of date, the official page linked from it is the authority. Every page lists its sources and flags anything uncertain.
